Today, The Prince of Wales, Marshal of The Royal Air Force, attended the Graduation Ceremony of the Queen’s Squadron at RAF College Cranwell as the Reviewing Officer.
His Royal Highness arrived on the College Parade Square escorted by the Commandant of the College to take the Royal Salute whilst one Typhoon, from 41 Squadron, RAF Coningsby provided a fly past overhead.
After reviewing the graduating officers, The Prince presented the course prizes to the top performing cadets from each course, before saying a few words of congratulations and good luck.
"I can only wish each of you every possible success and good fortune as you embark on your future service to this nation. We are very lucky to have you."
The ceremony ended with a fly past from the Red Arrows.
The College was the world’s first Air Academy and today, it continues to select and train the next generation of officers and aircrew.
His Royal Highness began his own career in the Armed Services in March 1971, when he started an attachment with the RAF at Cranwell. The Prince of Wales visited Cranwell in 2008 for The Duke of Cambridge’s Wings Graduation Ceremony.
