The Queen opens Winter Flowers Week at the Garden Museum
Published
Today, the Garden Museum hosted its inaugural Winter Flowers Week, celebrating seasonal flowers and foliage through immersive festive installations. Her Majesty toured the installations and met the designers who conceived the floral displays which were created using only British-grown seasonal flowers and foliage, employing environmentally-friendly materials and methods.
Following her tour of the current exhibition, 'Frank Walter: Artist, Gardener, Radical,' celebrating the work of the Antiguan artist, Her Majesty participated in a craft session designed for families to learn about winter flowers. She also had the opportunity to meet volunteers from Floral Angels - a charity dedicated to recycling donated flowers from events for use in hospices, women's refuges, and care homes throughout London.
About the Garden Museum:
The Garden Museum explores and celebrates the art, history, and design of British gardens and their significance in our lives today. Visitors can explore the stories of great gardeners through a permanent collection of artifacts and tools from gardening throughout history, alongside botanical art, photography, and paintings that delve into the reasons behind gardening.
